Dr Wayne Vos teaches the courses. He taught an ecology course for the School for Field Studies to American undergraduates in Kenya from 1994 to 2003, and has more than 25 years of field (and marine) experience in East and South Africa. Besides his doctorate in botany, he also has a National Diploma in Nature Conservation (refer to his CV – click here). Wayne’s depth and breadth of knowledge in natural history and conservation, combined with a humorous approach, makes learning effective and fun. He maintains high educational and safety standards.

Trelss McGregor, Wayne’s wife, is the office and course assistant. Trelss has a science degree, having majored in zoology and botany, and also has an honours degree in botany (Yes, they studied together at the same university). After qualifying, Trelss worked in horticulture then forestry research, before moving to Kenya with Wayne in 1994. In 2004 they returned to South Africa to start their own conservation courses. They live on site and have three children: Thomas, Lloyd, and Iris.
